It’s Harvest Season and more. . .
September 11, 2008
Harvest season has begun and we’ve been picking until our fingers are bleeding…wait, that’s raspberry juice. Yesterday we picked 52 pints! A new record for one picking session. Crooked Creek is now offering our raspberries for sale. Above is the new sign for our truck. It is also similar to our label that will be placed on our raspberries. Check out Crooked Creek Dairy. Not only do they offer our awesomely delicious raspberries, but they also carry several organic items and they like to support local farmers and growers. Another great item there is organically grown lettuce called Lettuce Alone. Very good. I would also like to thank VanHoutte Farms on Romeo Plank Road for supporting the local grower too. You should check them out too. We’ve been busy with school starting back up and fall creeping up on us – quickly! I finally had time to move the bunnies around. Had to move them to new headquarters so they can all run and play at the same time, just not together. Mom’s have become quite territorial. ANNOUNCEMENT: The Almont Farmers Market will be having their Animal Day on Saturday, September 13 from 9am-2pm. There will be pigs, chicks, a milking goat, maybe a calf and of course, my bunnies. Come visit us if you can. I know summer is coming to an end, and as sad as it is to see it go, I welcome fall. I love all the colors, cooler temperatures and that getting ready for winter energy. Take time to enjoy the season. Check out the garden in the early morning. The dew settles on spider webs and it looks so cool. I’ll take some early morn pics and post them. Well, I’ll rest up this evening for a productive day of picking tomorrow
